Quartzite is a metamorphic rock that is formed from sandstone. The strength, abrasion resistance, and weathering durability of this rock type expand its application possibilities to include almost all common uses for natural, dimension stone. It's a unique material, because it has a lot of sparkle which shines on the surface. It's best to be used for pool decks, coping, stair and garden pathways.
Interlocking system stone is also called 'crazy mat'. The split flagstone's edges are saw cut or hand chiseled, then placed and glued in an designed order or randomly on a plastic or fiberglass mesh back sheet. The unique feature is that sheets are matching and interlocking with each other in every sheet, giving a unique pattern look. It also makes the installation job easier at the site.

Flagstone is a flat stone, usually used for paving slabs or walkways, patios, fences and roofing, or for memorials, headstones, facades and other constructions.
Crazy paving is a means of hard-surfacing used outdoors, most frequently in gardens, beaches, yards. Paving stones of irregular size and shape are laid in a haphazard manner sometimes with mortar filling the gaps between.
Among all colors of the above mentioned quartzite flagstones, Desert Gold is no doubt the most popular one in our sales.

In these complete packages, the random flagstone are packed with bundles (4 bundles = 1 square meter). This is specially arranged for Japanese market.
When installing flagstone, you will need to put a solid base (a concrete base is recommended). After that you will need to put another layer of sand or stone screenings on the top and leave it untamped. Because flagstone is natural and is of varying thickness, the top layer will allow you to shift each piece into place and even it up with the next one.
When cutting flagstone use a brick saw or grinder if you want a more formal look; use a chisel if you want a more natural look, finally you can mortar the joints.
