Crushed Stone & Tumbled Pebble

Crushed Stone

Crushed stone or angular rock is a form of construction aggregate typically produced by mining a suitable rock deposit and breaking the rock down to the desired size using crushers. It can be made from marble, limestone, dolomite, granite or other rock that has been crushed and graded by screens to certain size classes. It is widely used in concrete or as a surfacing for roads and driveways.

Crushed stone comes in a variety of colors. They are normally graded in sizes of 2-5mm, 6-12mm, 12-18mm, 20-60mm, 60-100mm.

Tumbled Crushed Stone / Tumbled Pebble

The most common method of 'tumbling process' is to cut the stone to the same size and place them into a rubber drum / barrel along with abrasive grit (rocks, sand etc.) and water. The tiles are literally tumbled over and over while the sand, rocks and water wear down their edges and soften their finish. Tumbled tiles not only have slightly rounded edges and corners but also a smooth and worn look.
